House 'Set'

My Grandmother and Aunt's house 'to here' in one day!
It was fun to be there to see this part.
The boys enjoyed their dear ones and the dirt piles:)

Big Day

Today is another exciting day.
This house is getting lifted on to this foundation and all connected together

We thought it would happen last week, than this Tuesday...so we're ready. We've been doing other things.

Trying to catch butterflies

Lots of walks to see the cows near our current house
Playing in the backyard
(anything with wheels makes Moshe happy at the moment)
And forgetting to put up pics of my Easter Scene;)
I have been dreaming of this project for a few years. Finally, last Lent we made the tombs with our generous potter friends, Paul & Amber.
I was stumped on the people, though, 'til my friend Emily arrived and showed me how to make Felt Wee Folk. They are fun and easy to make, even if I ignore faces and hair and am not that creative. Check out Emily's gorgeous Easter scene here.

The boys did enjoy seeing and touching the scene, and so did their Dad.

Washington Street

I will miss the sunsets
- a lot.

Someone wants to go for a walk:)

{Yay for a fun package from dear friends far away}

Finally, we have daffodils at this house, and so many other fun plants emerging
- leaving is a little bittersweet.
Its taken us so long to get things going, and now its almost time to go.

We planted these seeds on a glorious St Patrick's Day, and now they're up!
My camera batteries died before I could take a picture of the raspberry vines...
I do wish I could take them with me
But there are so many beautiful things where we are going, plus a bigger house and a [much] bigger yard, and ponds. It will be so much fun.
But this the our first owned house, where two of the boys were born
and is loved with all its faults.

Easter @ the farm

We had a lovely Easter afternoon at the farm.
It was gorgeous weather (almost hot while we were walking around!)

{this is the house we hope to move into soon}
We had Mediteranean lamb kebabs for lunch.

Then, started working on the [easier] 'daffodil' egg hunt to find our first clue...

Elihu was the main hunter on this one:)

{Star magnolia and forsythia blooming together between the houses}

We the began the treasure hunt style egg hunt. Kable had spent a lot of time writing Bible verse clues to different well-known spots on the farm.

Progress

There is a large hole and should be a foundation put in at Grandma's Farm,

this week.

Hopefully, the house will be delivered next week. It's Grandma and Aunt's house. We will live in the original farm house. It seems incredible,
unbelievable,

that this dream I have dreamed for so long is going to come true.

I can't wait.

There have been a few fun things happening here.

I've been dying eggs

The boys are having Easter Egg Hunts.

We bought new dining room chairs (which match our lovely table).

What a fun week!

Reduce Clutter

In my daily blog browse I followed Shivaya to Bernadette to Shannon and found some inspiration (see sidebar pin: 'Reduce Clutter Create Space 2010') to start my sorting/packing before I talk myself into insanity.

My Friday-morning-Bob-Evans-Ladies helped too:) We were talking about how Jesus shook-up Sabbath from the book "Rest: Living in Sabbath Simplicity" by Keri Wyatt Kent and making sure we are carrying His [easy] yolk not someone else's [heavy] yolk.

"Lord, help me to do the tasks before me, as though I am doing them for You (and they are all for You). Amen."

Have some wonderful sunshine!
Emily

P.S. - This blog took a ridiculously long time to write! Working out how to quickly add links may be the work of days [read: weeks, months]. I am hoping to be able to put up lots of links and funny little things in the sidebars as I love other peoples. I am also planning to post my blog on Facebook, a big public step for me as Kable is currently my only reader!

St Paddy's Day

Spring is [almost] here!

My boys think it is:)

Now that we are outiside a lot and inside a little and my summer obligations are racing towards me, I feel...totally overwhelmed. Between packing, readying this house to be rented, and some other things I said 'yes' to, well, I wanted to just sit down and worry yesterday. Luckily, I didn't!

Moshe was sick so Kable took the morning off so I could go to "Something for Moms", and lead our book study. When I got home he got a taste of my mood and took the afternoon off too! It was a sweet treat. We got our St Patrick's Day seeds planted (onions, spinach, lettuce and peas)
and I got to make Nigella Lawson's Irish Stew and Best Recipe's Irish Soda Bread.

We also took one small step in packing - getting all of the boys clothes that will not be needed in the next six monthes to my mom's house. We have a lot of clothes in every size and season from my maternity clothes to boys' size 8, including shoes and coats! A small but satisfying step.

We are all waiting for the big hole in the ground that means Grandma and Aunt S's house has been started and this is not a dream...

Happy Spring!
Emily
